Examinations
During the course, students will be evaluated so we can keep track of their progress:
A2.2 EXAM
- Taken after finishing Newbie level
- “Pass” or “fail“ – teacher will evaluate the student and manage their needs accordingly
- Listening and reading: the number of questions is various with multiple choice and open questions. Normally. 70% correct answers to pass the test, also depending on how challenging the test is. Each test takes 60 minutes.
- Writing: several short writing tasks, the number of tasks varies. The test takes 60 minutes.
- Speaking: A 10-15 minutes interview in Zoom with one of our teachers. The interview is a conversation between the student and the teacher and they will talk about the student’s life, ideas and opinions.
B1.1 EXAM
Starting from March 4th, 2024, the number of sub-tests will be reduced from four (4) to two (2).

So, all skills will still be tested, but not in separate tests. Instead, reading and writing will be merged into one test (written skills), and listening and speaking will be merged into another test (oral skills).
Passing the sub-test requires B1.1 level knowledge in both evaluated skills. Please note that the written exam still has to be passed before accessing the interview.
The test assignments in the written skills test will measure both understanding (reading) and producing (writing), and to successfully pass the test, the student must be able to understand the assignments and text parts and to write the answers.
By following the same logic, passing the interview requires the student to interact in Finnish in B1.1 level, both showing the understanding of asked questions and conversation and also being able to answer questions.
ASSIGNMENTS POLICY
- Most assignments have deadlines, please pay attention to submit on time!
- You must finish 80% of the assignments given by the end of each level
- Your teacher & Finnish team will contact you and your agency in case you missed too many assignments
